Margarida Antuerpia Costa, 90, passed away peacefully on December 26, 2020. She was the beloved wife of the late Luiz Sabino DaCosta. Born in Ponta Delgada, Açores she was a daughter of the late Manuel Furtado and Maria da Gloria (Simões) Furtado.
She is survived by a loving son, Paulo Luis Costa and wife Margarida Ribeiro Costa; two grandchildren, Darciah Sofia Costa, Nelson Brandon Costa; two sisters, Deborah Rosa Furtado Lopes, Marilia Dora Furtado Bernardo; and many nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Paulo Nelson Costa and sister of the late Joao Sergio Furtado and Maria Olga Pereira.
My parents married on July 5, 1966 and were together for over 50 years. My mom was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and friend to so many. She was kind hearted, and committed to her faith in the Lord. She always gave of herself to everyone she met. She took care of others needs above her own many times over. She will be greatly missed for her kindness, hospitality, and love to all of us.
